     Introducing Che-Val, a unique husband and wife indie music group that blends live orchestration and electronic synths with well-crafted, smash-worthy melodic hooks. Laura Cash is the sultry and striking singer, songwriter, lyricist and science professor (yes, really); hence the Wonder Woman of this dynamic duo. Kenny Cash, the musical genius behind the group, is the Bruce Wayne: producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, Berklee scholar, and recording engineer. Together, they form a powerful songwriting/production team of undeniable fun and a pop sensation in the making. 
 
   “Waterproof,” the duo’s debut album, fuses edgy alternative pop with a classic throwback multi-genre vibe. The first track “Oh Darling” flirts with ‘60s soul, “My Beat” nods to ’80s and early ’90s pop (sax solo and all), while "Love Still Waiting” plays with old-school funk (horns courtesy of the Funky Dawgs Brass Band). Each song was produced and recorded at Cash's bat cave: the Factory Underground Studio in Norwalk CT.
 
     Che-Val’s debut single “My Beat" was released in August 2014 and reached number #55 on the Mediabase Radio "Top 40" Activator chart. A self-produced, retro-inspired green-screen animation video for "My Beat" hit 25K+ views on Vevo and YouTube. A second single, "Don't Give Up On Me," put a deeply personal song to work raising money for those with Parkinson's Disease (a disease battled by Kenny’s mother) through a partnership with the National Parkinson Foundation. Up next was "Love Still Waiting," a tongue-in-cheek salute to Kenny Cash's endless quest for recording perfection, with his love Laura at home forever-waiting. "The song is an inside joke for the people that know us - plus it gave me a chance to speak on my love of Doritos!" Laura says with a smile and snap. The group followed this release with "Gone Mad,” a dark piece of orchestrated alternative pop inspired by "Alice in Wonderland."

     So why the name Che-Val?  "This was from the very first purchase we made together for our home, something we always wanted and looked for," Laura says referring to a large mirror that swings in a frame. "The name reflects our support for one another," she says. Fans will note the use of this mirror as a fun featured prop in the "Gone Mad" video.
